According to AP News the Korean car manufacturer KIA Motors is recalling almost 380,000 cars in the 2021 Kia Sportage Cadenza Recall

There seems to be a risk of engine fire therefore they’re telling some kia car owners of some 2017 through 2021 Sportage SUVs and 2017 to 2019 Cadenza sedans to get the issue corrected.

Some kia soul owners are worried but they shouldn’t be because the kia recalls are only for the Cadenza and Sportage models.  If customers want to do a Kia Recall Check they can visit Kia Engine Fire Recall site once there wether you have a Kia Optima or Sorento or Soul you can enter your 17 digit Kia vin number and it will tell you all recalls that pertain to your year and model.

According to AP newswire if you have any of those two models you shouldn’t park your car inside a parking garage or near your house because risk or engine compartment fire.

In 2019 there have been many complaints in the US of engine fire in Kia and Hyundai models.  The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has been investigating these incidents since 2015

The estimated percentage defective for defective cars is 1 percent.

Korean companies, now largely merged into Hyundai-Kia, have grown strongly in recent years.

The recall covers certain 2012 and 2013 Sorento SUVs, 2012-2015 Forte and Forte Koup cars, 2011-2013 Optima Hybrid cars, 2014 and 2015 Soul SUVs, and 2012 Sportage SUVs.

Last week, Kia and its parent, Hyundai Motor Co., agreed to a record $ 210 million civil fine after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported they did not recall 1.6 million vehicles. for engine problems in a timely manner.

The Hyundai affiliate said that “based on NHTSA’s recommendation” it had made the “decision to recall certain Kia vehicles as a preventative measure to mitigate any potential fire risks.”

Hyundai recalled 129,000 US vehicles on Friday because connecting rod bearings can wear out prematurely, which over time can result in engine damage and increase fire hazards.
